>The Favorite: Valor is our favorite to win a 4th straight championship - their first at Clas 5A. We believe they are the most talented and most playoff-ready ballclub in Class 5A.
>The Contenders: ThunderRidge and Ralston Valley have proven this year that they have what it takes to win a state title.
>The Pack: A handful of teams in this group that all have good talent, but several holes that are concerning. F-Ft. Carson, Arapahoe, Pomona, Chaparral and Cherokee Trail are all in this group.
>The Rest: We think it is doubtful a state champion will come from this group, but you never know. A semifinalist may emerge, but that is as high as the ceiling goes. Grandview, Columbine and Grand Junction.
4A Top 10 - Week 9 (10/29/12)
NOTES FROM THE POLL:
>Monarch moves back into the top spot after destroying then-number one Broomfield. Yes, the Coyotes did lose to Wheat Ridge in week one, but we still feel Monarch is the team to beat.
>Denver South put a hurting on Green Mountain last week....yet another quality win for the Rebels. The loss of Phillip Lindsay does not seem as significant as it once did.
>Pueblo West and Ponderosa remain the only undefeated teams in 4A. An argurement could be made for each team to be the number one team in Class 4A.
>Broomfield drops all the way to 8th in our latest poll. Not sure what happened on Friday in the 42-7 loss to Monarch, but it is very concerning. Off the field distractions may be one of the issues.
